I am VERY pleased to announce the birth of Thomas on Thursday the 12 of August. :)
Not that it matters other than to indicate he was healthy, but he weighed in at 3.7kg (no idea what that is in pounds, and let's be honest, it's more than likely that neither do you :)) and was 51cm tall.
Yours truly had the honour of catching him!
He was a little blue when he was born and needed to be revived with oxygen, but only needed about 30 seconds away from mum and the much needed skin to skin contact that had him pink and adorable in no time.
Fun and games when we left our property for the 2am drive to Canberra...
It had been pouring with rain for a few hours and the commodore only just made it out of the property! We were sideways about 4 times as we crept out of the driveway at about 2 km/h with wheels spinning in the mud!
It'll make a fun story to recount at his 21st/wedding/ordination if God wills we live to see it!
Speaking of God's will, the plan for Thomas is that he becomes a Catholic on the 21st of this month - both federal election day and my birthday. (I figured that if the worst should happen at the election I still have two happy events to celebrate on the day and so will end up ahead by at least one.)

Congratulations.
Today I attended the now annual mass for pregnant women at St Mary's Cathedral. The Cardinal preached a very good sermon on the importance of mothers and Our Lady's Assumption, then at the end of the mass he individually blessed over 100 expectant mothers, including my youngest daughter, who is expecting her seventh in February.
It was a lovely day and I congratulate the Cardinal for this initiative among a number that he has brought to the Archdiocese since he became our Archbishop.
Again congratulations to you David and your wife. Children are indeed a gift from the Lord. I pray that the anti-family politicians will be defeated big time on Saturday.
Congratulations to you all. Welcome Little Thomas David.
When do we get pictures??? Congrats to you both. What a blessing children are. Glad you made it to the hospital safely. Sounds adventurous. By the way, what is rain? :)
Pics are on the way.
Patty,
I hear your pain re the rain - we are in our first year of coming out of a terrible drought. This is the first time we won't have to buy feed for our livestock since coming here 8 years ago.
Congrats! (For the record 3.7 kg= approx 7.4 lbs.)
Congratulations, David! Glad to hear that wife and Thomas David are fine.
congratulations David. Thomas is a great name. Our third son has the same name.
Welcome little Thomas. Hope this Saturday goes well with all three things.
