For a man usually given to overstatements, indulge me this understatement:
I am "very pleased" to announce the birth of Matthew Anthony. He was born on September 7, 2008 (Fathers' Day in Australia) - without doubt one of the best gifts possible!
The stats...
He weighed in at 4.39 kg (9lb 11oz for the metrically challenged) and was 53 cm tall.
Labour was by far the hardest for my wife so far, but she came through like the heroine she always is.
Matthew and mum are both home now and all the usual (sublime, yet ordinary) stuff like breast feeding and bonding are coming along nicely.
One day God will visit me for my sins, but it isn't these days.

Congratulations indeed. Amazing how love grows as the family grows... One wouldn't think it could, but it does!
